Criollo cocoa is grown by the AsoAnei and the women farmers’ CooAgroNevada cooperatives near the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Farming here protects land from illegal logging and mining by forming buffer zones. Beekeeping projects have been introduced for biodiversity and extra income.

    We source our cocoa directly from farmer cooperatives in agroforests that protect biodiversity and restore ecosystems. By paying well above market prices, we ensure farmers earn a living income — supporting local healthcare, education, and sustainable farming.

    Some of our cocoa travels to Amsterdam the old- school way — by sailboat. It’s slower, but saves over a ton of CO2 per trip. We keep our logistics short and clean, using cargo bikes, trains, and low-emission partners wherever possible.

    In our solar-powered factory, we roast, grind, conche, and mold every bar ourselves. From second-hand machines to compostable wrappers, every choice we make reflects our commitment to delicious chocolate that’s good for people and the planet.
